Popular activist whose real name is Aisha Somtochukwu Yesufu was born in Kano State, Nigeria, on December 12, 1973. But, contrary to popular belief, she is an Edo State native from Etsako. She was the first of five children born to her parents.
Aisha is an entrepreneur and activist, rose to prominence in April 2014 when she marched with protesters to Abuja’s National Assembly against the kidnapping of over 200 girls from a secondary school in Chibok, Nigeria, sparking the BBOG (Bring Back Our Girls) movement.
She also led the EndSARS protest against police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.
